Udemy Rebrand

In 2020, I led the visual development of Udemy's rebrand, collaborating with a wonderful team of designers, writers, illustrators, filmmakers, and photographers.

A logo that points us north
Whether you seek it or share it, knowledge is uplifting. Udemy’s new logomark captures that upward movement with an arrow — a universal symbol for growth. We call ours the Uptick, and we use it to signify the aspiration and advancement of every learner, business, and instructor in our community.

Colors that set the mood
With a bright and optimistic palette, we add a feeling of energy and life to everything we do. Our primary brand color is a vivid, uplifting shade of purple that reminds us of our promise to create growth and possibilities.

Photography with feeling
For Udemy’s new brand photography, we collaborated with famed photographer Peter Yang. Human stories are at the core of Udemy’s brand, and our portraits capture the positive emotions and outcomes attached to learning while faithfully representing the company’s international reach.

Illustrations with meaning
Some moments aren't easily captured in words or photos, so we set out to develop an imaginative illustration style that covered the needs of Udemy’s multiple international business arms and audiences.
We found the perfect mix of personality and hand-drawn humanity in the work of Abbey Lossing.

We complimented Abbey’s hero illustrations with the whimsical spot illustration work of artists Radostina Georgieva and Lilla Bardenova.

On launch day, every global Udemy employee who wanted fresh new swag had it delivered to their doorstep.
